15th November marked the 105th Anniversary/Birthday of Captain Anthony Clemendor (1912 – 1998)
Captain Clemendor was a truly legendary figure in the Trinidad and Tobago Cadet Force who held the position of Regimental Sergeant-Major/Permanent Staff Instructor in the Ministries of Home Affairs and National Security (Cadet Force Divsion) from 1957 to 1972.
Prior to this period, Regimental Sergeant-Major Clemendor was responsible for training generations of Cadets, two of whom were:
- Mr. Lance Selman retired Deputy Commissioner of Police
‘A’ Company Queen’s Royal College and
- Brigadier-General Joseph Theodore retired Chief of Defence Staff
‘B’ Company St. Mary’s College
The Cadet Force Division is very pleased to join the Commandant, Deputy Commandant, Officers and Warrant Officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Cadet Force as we pay tribute to a true legend.
Captain Clemendor will always remain alive in our hearts. In this 1971 photograph then Regimental Sergeant-Major Clemendor (right) poses with Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant Wilfrid Jeremiah (left)
